Tuhannen Tarinan Talo is located in Finnish Lake District, in a peaceful rural village of Kannuskoski 2 hours from Helsinki-Vantaa airport. We provide accommodation for individuals and groups and program services for small groups based on the nature and local history throughout the year. Activities for everyone

What are a thousand stories made of? Blueberries, lingonberries, strawberries in the backyard. The twinkle of the starry sky, the whisper of the spruce forest. Of walks in the woods, of moments spent together. The wool of sheep, the darkening summer evenings. The creaking snow, the peaceful sleep, the festive moments, the swimming trips. The atmosphere of an old house, the spaciousness of the countryside.

Livestock yard

In July, Maatilamatkailu Tuhannen Tarinan Talo will also open its premises to individual visitors. For an entrance fee, you can visit the farm animals, the local forest and throw a Frisbee on the 6-hole Frisbee golf course suitable for older children and families. The whole yard and its equipment are at your disposal.

Coffee, refreshments and baked goods are also available during farmyard’s opening hours.

The House of a Thousand Stories is home to rabbits, chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, a dog, a horse, a pony and a donkey. You may also catch a glimpse of the house cats, if it suits them that day. The animals can be petted under the guidance of the house staff.

During the activities, you can enjoy a snack in the house of a thousand stories, on the terrace and in the courtyard.

Rent your holiday home

The House of Thousand Tales is located in the village of Kannuskoski between the cities of Lappeenranta and Kouvola It is a family run business that has been operating since 1996. The farm itself has been in the same spot for a hundred years. The price of accommodation includes the use of a barbecue place, a sauna, and a lot of interactive activities for children in the yard. Especially for a child guests farmyard animals are often the highlight of an unforgettable holiday. Accommodation facilities are located in the main building and an old entirely renovated barn house. Houses have been completely renovated in accordance with modern requirements, including with respect for the old. Easy and convenient way to stay in the countryside.

Kannuskoski village is located in the middle of the favorite destinations for families with children. Kouvola Tykkimäki amusement park and Aquapark, sandcastle of Lappeenranta, Kotka and Maretarium Vellamo and Repovesi National Park are all within a day trip away. Encourage rapids you can enjoy the tranquility of nature and explore the rural village life. Kyykoski fishing district, as well as guided nature trails offer a good framework for the nature tourism. The village is crossed by Väliväylä canoeing route and it is suitable for all paddlers.

Navetan Vintti -cottage

In the Famhouse holidays the House of Thousans Tales there is an old barn that has been fully renovated in 2011. Downstairs this cottage there is a wooden sauna and a large living room with fireplace. On the upper floor there are four bedrooms (10 bed places), the kitchen and a living room. Guests have access to free wifi. In the yard there are domestic animals in the summer.

The House of thousand Tales is easy to reach with a family. The yard is safe and is equipped with plenty to do for example a small playground, a trampoline, frisbee golf baskets, as well as domestic animals in the summer. In winter cross-country skiing trail leaves from the yard, and a sledding hill can be found right behind the house. There is a kitchen and a barbecue area at your disposal. We can arrange horse back riding, canoeing or day trips to the nature with extra charge. And if you want to take part in feeding farm animals just let us know. For nature lovers this is the place to be.

Farmhouse Holidays

Holiday in Tuhannen Tarinan Talo is ideal for those who want to enjoy the peace and quiet, like hiking outdoors in the woods, cycling or snowshoeing, sauna, eating local food and perhaps participating in the care of the farm animals. There are also many things to do in the yard for families with children; minizoo, frisbee golf course, small playground and trampolines. You can rent canoes from us or also book horseback riding and horse-drawn carriage rides as a holiday program.

Holiday in the countryside, half board

Holiday price includes accommodation and half board (brakfast and dinner)

Price includes accommodation in the double or the family room, linen and towels and half board.

Program during Farmhouse holiday can include for example feeding animals, fishing, canoeing, nature hikes, horse riding. Also sauna is included in the price.  There is a fully equipped kitchen and a barbecue area at your disposal.

In winter the traditional skiing trail leaves from the yard. You can borrow snow shoes, sledges and sliders. In the Summer you can swim in a nearby lake, go hiking, cykling or angling. By booking in advance you can also rent canoes and bicycles for the duration of your stay.

Cities of Kouvola, Lappeenranta, Kotka and Hamina are les than an hour´s drive from us. Repovesi National Park is a popular hiking destination, also great place for a day trip.

Summer night in a tensile tent at the farm

Now you can stay overnight in Tentsile Tree Tent. It is a popular and trendy tent, which is hung from the tree-trunks about one meter above ground level – sort of a cross-section between a tent and a hammock.

Holiday price includes also half board (breakfast and dinner).
