A holiday in a rental cottage offers a chance to go fishing on the lake. The most important fish species are pike, pike-perch, perch and burbot. Fishing is possible year-round, angling in the midsummer sunshine, as well as ice fishing on a frozen lake in the wintertime. It’s easy to go fishing on the lake as a rowing boat is included in the rent and also one permit for trolling. Angling in the summer and ice fishing in the winter are both allowed without any permits. Permits can be bought, if needed, in R-kioski in Sysmä.

Alternative hiking routes can be found in national parks and around the area, for example the route of Kelvenne island and the nature trails of Pulkkilanharju, Kammiovuori and Päijätsalo. On the Tervalepikko homesteads, every winter, a great variety of ski tracks laid out, which are suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers. The owner Vesa is a passionate skier and always keeps his tracks in good condition. He even has his own snowblower!

Rental cottages

Tainan tupa 6+2

Located in Sysmä, near Lahti, in the province of Päijät-Häme, the Tainan Tupa holiday cottage stands on a small pinewood hill about 50 meters from the lake. The yard, jetty and beach area offer privacy as the evening sun shines on the terrace. A ski track suitable for both classic and freestyle skiing starts right in front of the cottage. This well-equipped, five star cottage with the total floor area of 120 square meters was built in 2004. It is suitable for year-round use.

Vesan villa 6+2

This planed log cottage stands on a slope overlooking a pine forest and an own pond amidst tranquil lakeland scenery. The afternoon sun shines on the yard and brings ambiance even on summer evenings. In the wintertime a ski track starts right from the doorstep and winds through the pine forest. In summer the track serves as a walking or jogging path offering an experience in total harmony with nature. Vesan Villa is also close to amenities, only seven kilometers away from the shops in Sysmä.
