The Picturesque Brickshed

Originally built in 1896 and relocated to its current site in 1927. A renovated festive venue for up to 150 guests, available during the summer season only. In winter, events are held in the main house.

Holiday cottages and smoke sauna

Fresh and delicious meals

Fresh and delicious food has been the cornerstone of our success story for 25 years. Our fresh and delicious meals are based on local, organic, and ecological farming – as well as freshly caught fish from Lake Kirrinjärvi. Smoked salmon and smoked northern pike are among our most popular specialities, along with the traditional Petäjävesi-style rye-baked roast.

Our homemade bread tastes just like the bread from childhood! Vegetables are organically grown in a nearby garden, and the eggs come from an ecologically run henhouse.

Menus are customized based on your preferences.

Organic Bio Products

Rye, oats, barley, and wheat are grown on our own farm. The grains are milled into flakes, grits, and flour at mills in Konnevesi and Ylöjärvi. You can buy our organic products directly from the farm, at the Heinähattu Shop in Petäjävesi, and from various organic food distributors in Central-Finland.

Accommodation in Kumpunen

Accommodation is available during the summertime for up to 50 people – in the main building, in cottages, or romantically in the Luhti-aitta.

Holiday cottages in Kumpunen

Three cottages by Lake Kirrinjärvi, 38 km west of Jyväskylä, can be rented year-round, offering accommodation for up tp 20 people. Each cottage has its own private beach with a pier, rowing boat, barbecue, swing, and sandbox for children. The cottages are equipped with electric heating, hot and cold water, toilet, sauna and shower room, fully equipped kitchen, TV, and radio.

Pihlajakumpu

Lake Kirrinjärvi 25 m (length 2 km, width 700 m), shallow water with a reasonably soft sandy-muddy bottom. Own rowing boat. Log cabin built in 1991: kitchen, living room, one bedroom with a double bed, one bedroom with 2 single beds, and a sleeping loft (12 m², sloping ceilings, max height 180 cm) with two beds and two mattresses. Dressing room, washroom, sauna (electric stove), and open veranda. Separate lakeside sauna.

Mäntykumpu

Lake Kirrinjärvi 20 m (length 2 km, width 700 m), shallow water with a soft sandy-muddy bottom. Own rowing boat. Log cabin built in 1992, with kitchen, dining room, bedroom with double bed, bedroom with two beds, living room / sleeping loft (10 m², sloping ceilings, highest point 210 cm) with two mattresses, dressing room, washroom, sauna, and open veranda.

Kuusikumpu

Lake Kirrinjärvi 30 m (length 2 km, width 700 m ), shallow water, firm sandy-muddy bottom. Own rowing boat. Log cabin built in 1994, with kitchen, living room, bedroom with double bed, bedroom with two beds, sleeping loft (10 m², sloping ceilings, highest point 210 cm) with two mattresses, dressing room, washroom, sauna, and open veranda. TV is in the loft.

Room accommodation

Since 2010, we have renovated the farmhouse buildings for accommodation. First, we restored the “Luhtiaitta”, a traditional Finnish granary that accommodates 20 people, along with the sauna, both available during the summer season. Next, we renovated the old brick shed into a festive hall for 150 people, as well as a modern kitchen.

The latest addition is the “Uusi-Kirri” main house, which was built by Hjalmar Kirri in the 1920s. When he died in 1933, the land was divided among 13 relatives. This division also created the present farmhouses, “Kirri” and “Uusi-Kirri”. They remained independent for decades until we were able to purchase the buildings after the owner, farmer Esko Ässämäki passed away.

Vanha-Kirri

Upstairs in the main building, there are two rooms available year-round. The lobby / living room area and the toilet are shared. In the hall, there is a microwave, coffee machine, electric kettle, and TV. Sauna and washing facilities are downstairs.

Uusi-Kirri

There are six double bedrooms, five of which have a private WC and shower. The living room area and the hall / lobby are shared spaces. The rooms are redocorated in the 1920s style and overlook the magnificient Lake Kirrinjärvi. Each rooms is individually designed and named after former generations. The living room area is ideal for meetings of up to 10 people. The kitchen next to the living room is perfect for cooking courses.

Accommodation in Aitta (Barn)

For summer visitors, we offer the Luhti-aitta, which can accommodate up to 20 people. Downstairs, there are two rooms for six people, each with three double beds. Upstairs, there are two rooms for four people, both with two double beds. Guests staying in Luhti-aitta use the toilet facilities in the Brickshed, while the washing facilities and sauna are located in the outhouse.
