Parties

Farmhouse Kumpunen offers outstanding location for parties and meetings. We organize parties and other events with 25 years of solid experience. There is room for 150 persons in summertime and in winter for 70 persons. Check out and contact us.

Catering

Fresh and delicious food is the keyword for our success-story for 25 years. Our fresh and delicious meals are based on locality, both organic and ecological bio-farming as well as freshly caught fish in Kirrinjärvi. Both smoked salmon and smoked northern pike are our famous specialities as well as the traditional Petäjävesi ryebaked roast. Our homemade bread tastes like bread of our childhood! Vegetables are organically grown in the garden nearby and eggs by ecologically run henhouse.

The menu will be planned with the customer.

Organic bio-products

Rye, oats, barley and wheat are the products of our own farm. The grains are milled into flakes, grits and flour in the mills of Konnevesi and Ylöjärvi. You can buy the Bio- products in our Farm or in Heinähattu -shop in Petäjävesi as well as various organic-based food deliverers in Middle-Finland.

Farmhouse holidays in Kumpunen, room accommodation

Since 2010 we have renovated the farmhouse buildings for accommodation. First the “luhtiaitta”, a traditional Finnish granary for 20 persons along with the sauna, all for the summer season. Next the old brick shed we renovated also a festive room for 150 persons as well as the modern kitchen.

The latest is the “Uusi-Kirri” main house, which was built by Hjalmar Kirri in 1920’s. When he died in 1933 the land was divided between 13 relatives. Thus was also formed the present farmhouses, “Kirri” and “Uusi-Kirri”. They were independent for decades until we were able to purchase the “Uusi-Kirri” after the owner, farmer Esko Ässämäki died.
