Salmenaho cottages

Salmenaho cottages is traditional farm resides in southern Savo, in the municipality of Sulkava, next to the shores of lakes Siikajärvi and Kapeavesi. The Salmenaho cottages are located on the southern ends of those lakes. There are no other cottages near Kapeavesi, so a peaceful atmosphere is guaranteed.

The nearby woods are perfect for picking berries and mushrooms. From Siikajärvi lake there is a route to Kapeavesi lake through Virtasalmi narrows, so there are also plenty of waters for fishing.

Salmenaho cottages were founded back in 1975, so we already have nearly 40 years of experience, and the younger generation has been running the cottages since 1995.

Activities

Our visitors can use our fishing gear, pedal boat, skis and more.

During winter there are ski trails on the lake ice, and it’s also suitable for ice fishing. About 15 km away there is Hasamäki ski resort with nice slopes for downhill skiing and snowboarding.

The nearby woods are perfect for nature walks and picking berries and mushrooms.

The farm has many animals and activities for children, such as horseback riding, or sleigh rides during winter.

“An old mill can tell many stories…” The old landlord of Salmenaho offers guided tours in the old mill building of Ihantala farm.

Welcome to our well-equipped holiday homes

Each cottage has a rowboat and a safe beach for children. The larger holiday homes can accommodate up to 7 people (94 m²), and the smaller ones are for 5 people (40m²).

All cottages have national MALO classification 5/5.
