The diverse offering of Merilä Manor is perfect for a number of occasions: relaxation, efficient working in a tranquil setting, and different types of parties.

Refreshing meetings in the tranquil countryside

Merilä Manor is an ideal setting for organising a meeting or a training event. We offer our customers excellent meeting facilities and, if required, catering, accommodation, and leisure time activities.

Whatever the season, Merilä Manor offers an idyllic and rustic milieu for your meetings. The main building, built in 1811, and its extensions provide seats for 260 diners and conference facilities for about 285 persons.

The Manor’s meeting packages include modern and high-quality conference technology; wireless sound system, Wi-Fi, AV equipment (4 sets), TV panels, and flip charts (2 pcs.) are available in all meeting rooms.

Merilä Manor provides facilities for events of varying sizes, ranging from a 10-person recreational day to almost 300-person get-togethers. In addition to the larger facilities, the Manor offers six smaller spaces for group meetings or conferences.

Relaxing in one of the many saunas

Three saunas reside right next to Merilä Manor; the wood-heated Yläsauna (‘upper sauna’, room for 8 persons), Alasauna heated by electricity (‘lower sauna’, room for 15 persons), and the traditional and idyllic Savusauna (‘smoke sauna’, room for 15 persons).

The saunas are right on the banks of the Oulu River, with a dock for cooling off. We can also provide a portable outdoor hot tub – or several tubs – next to the saunas.

The old log frame of the smoke sauna was cut by hand using a broad axe and it dates back to the 18th or 19th century. It was later transported to the Manor from the homestead of the late woman of the house, Kaisu, from the parish hamlet of Utajärvi. The smoke sauna was earlier used as a two-storey trading warehouse and also used for sleeping in the summer.

Things to do and see

Merilä Manor offers activities for their visitors all year round. Rowing and fishing in the waters of the Oulu River and exercising in the nature on foot, fat bikes, or on snowshoes in winter is easy, as you can do all this close to the Manor.

In addition to nature trips we also organise fun-filled outdoor olympics for groups.

If you have special requests regarding the programme, don’t hesitate to contact us! We can also provide activities per customers’ wishes.

Delicious local food from the Manor kitchen

The food philosophy of Merilä Manor comprises top-quality raw ingredients that turn into delicious food. Great ingredients are the result of freshness, locality, and a clean growth environment.

The raw ingredients and processed products, such as mushrooms, meats, yoghurts, and our own local specialty, Midsummer cheese – eaten all year round despite the name – are all acquired close by. Natural fish comes from the waters of Rokua and Oulujärvi, only the salmon is either Finnish rainbow trout or salmon from the Bothnian Bay. The delicious berries for our desserts and jams we pick with our own hands whenever possible.

One important factor in our philosophy is our location between the Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu regions. For the most part, our menus are based on the traditions of Northern Ostrobothnia, but we’re also using recipes from Kainuu.

We make almost all our dishes and baked goods, such as the delicious Manor malt bread, ourselves in the Manor kitchen.
