Koivuniemen Herra Farm is a farm tourism destination that provides visitors with a variety of fun and authentic rural experiences. The relaxing atmosphere and the story-filled farmyard make even a short visit or holiday a refreshing and memorable experience.

Welcome to milking! MuuMaa offers farm activities for children and tour leaders throughout the year. Visit us for a day or enjoy a real countryside holiday.

Muumaa theme park

Koivuniemen Herra’s MuuMaa countryside theme park allows you to experience daily life in the countryside together with the owner and employees. The various activities available at the children’s farm provide things to see and do for people of all ages, from children to adults alike. All activities are included in the admission price and for lodgers.

Animal buddies

With us, you can marvel at the creatures of the animal kingdom, ranging from small farm animals to some slightly more unusual animal friends. “From the oinking pig to the silky chinchilla and the garter snake.”

Guided programmes

The cowbell rings or the hostess calls for people to join in with the daily programme every hour on the hour. Would you like to try milking? Would you jump into a pony-drawn carriage or a tractor? Or would you peek into the hen house during the hen house tour? Throughout the day, the yard is visited by animal buddies, whom you can pet – and you may even get to hold a chicken.

Traditional workshops

At the traditional workshops, which change daily, maids and farmhands help you to, for example, churn butter, spin yarn or climb onto a shingle roof.

Play areas and water activities

The versatile play areas lend themselves to making sand castles, driving on a tractor or riding a hobby horse. The straw beds invite you to jump around, while the quirky tunnel and the pirate barn provide for an ideal setting for imaginary play. On the shore, you can embark on a rowing trip on the farm’s pond.

Campfire and picnics

Bring your own picnic basket and head for the picnic and campfire area. Matches are available at reception and cafe, and campfire logs are included in the admission price.

Adults

The Koivuniemen Herra Farm offers a wide range fun activities for adults!

The Koivuniemen Herra Farm has large indoor and outdoor spaces that enable safe operation even during these exceptional times.
Our services range from programmed events to relaxing sauna evenings. Thanks to our partner network in the Merikarvia region, you can participate in a wide range of activities, such as mushroom picking, fishing excursions, or an escape room adventure. At the farm, you can learn about traditional Finnish farm work, enjoy a relaxing moment in a hammock, or try milking a cow with a VR headset. We offer a wide range of activities throughout the year – both indoors and outdoors. And always with an added touch of humour!

All activities can be complemented by restaurant and catering services.

The farm’s cozy countryside hotel and hostel are available for groups throughout the year. The accommodation includes the opportunity to participate in the morning chores of the farm, such as collecting eggs, for example. We can accommodate groups from 10 to 100 people.

Excursions

Country-themed excursions with programmes for children, young people and families, from spring to autumn. The programme is engaging and includes skills and information related to the countryside and/or animals. Premises, catering and practical arrangements are available whatever the weather.

Koivuniemen Herra’s cafeteria is a perfect place to stop for a relaxing coffee break or to enjoy a tasty lunch with the family between farm activities.

Family-friendly lunch

Lunch buffet (seasonal menu) served in the main building.

The lunch includes the following items:

• Coffee and tea

The cafeteria offers

Independent picnics

MuuMaa visitors and hotel or hostel guests may use the wood-fired grill and campfire area to enjoy their packed lunches and to grill sausages. Logs are included in the area pass, matches are available from reception or cafeteria.

Countryside accommodation

Countryside Hotel Hanna & Magnus

The farm’s old main building, built in the 1920s, has 10 hotel rooms that can accommodate 2–5 people. Baby cots are also available for each room upon request. The hotel rooms are named after the founders of the farm from 1800s. All rooms are unique and feature cozy farmhouse décor. Each room has a toilet and a shower. A tasty country-style breakfast is served in the main room and is included in the room rate. Accommodation always includes the opportunity to participate in the morning chores of the farm. Hotel guests can purchase an all-day pass at a reduced price during the opening hours of the MuuMaa countryside theme park.

Old Barn Hostel

The farm’s stone barn serves as a hostel. The Old Barn Hostel has 5 unique rooms that can accommodate 2–6 people. Baby cots are also available for each room upon request. The rooms with solid stone walls are named after the cattles which lived in the barn in 1950s. The hostel’s shower and toilet facilities are located along the corridor. Breakfast (served in the main building) is available at an additional fee. The room rate includes bed linen and the opportunity to participate in the morning chores of the farm. Hostel guests can purchase an all-day pass at a reduced price during the opening hours of the MuuMaa countryside theme park.
