The Old Väätänen

Lake shore cottages

Two cottages are located on the waterfront of Lake Väätänen. These cottages are two-storey with an open-plan kitchen/living room with a fireplace and a twin-bedded room, a wood-heated sauna, a bathroom with shower/bathroom and a terrace overlooking the lake on the 1st floor and a sleeping loft for 5 persons and a balcony on the 2nd floor. There is also a sofa bed on the 1st floor and a bed for a smaller child on the 2nd floor for additional bedding.

Only about 50 meters from the lake shore, where there’s a pier with staircase to the water for swimming, a rowing boat, a lean-to and a grill hut for joint use of the two cottages.

We don’t charge an advance payment when making the reservation. You either pay the total sum in advance or when arriving to cottage in cash or debit card. Cleaning and linen are not included in the base price.

The Old Väätänen is an old family estate in the middle of Finland. The estate has been settled since 1565. The main house has been an inn and today the 9th generation does business in forestry, tourism and cottage rentals.
