Activities and unforgettable events

The playful, sporty programme outdoor or indoor, meals at the nature and other activities bring refreshment to your meeting day, or works as a program for company’s activity day. Even to arrive to the Haapaniemi can work as an activity: you can bicycle here from Iisalmi, or come by boat thru the lake. Our speciality and all time favourite is the smoke sauna, which will be the highlight of your day.

Fishing

Catching a fish will need a bit of luck, skill and patience! Fishful lake Haapajärvi, Poroselkä and other lakes nearby are great for lure fishing with boats. Wintertime it’s time for net fishing, or ice fishing for perch. You can have as fresh fish as possible when you prepare food of the catched fish. There is possibility for fish smoking, fry on pan, cook by flames or make a delicious soup. You will gain experience with fish catching and preparing with our help if needed.

Smoke sauna

A roomy smoke sauna can accommodate approx. 15 people to the sauna’s mild and humid heat. Smoke sauna will give you deep pleasure, for a long and peaceful evening.

In the wintertime, there’s also a hole in the ice for really exotic swimming experience, which will refresh you completely after a hot sauna.

A hot tube outside the sauna for complete ease off. Cold drinks after sauna refreshes, and Haapatupa provides premises for having something to eat and chill down.

Hot tub

Sauna party, stag party, birthdays, family events…anything! Hot tub is always a good addition for any event. This “mobile” hot tub can be towed with a car – to home, cottage, you name it. You can also reserve hot tub to be a part of your happening in Haapaniemi, warm and ready.

Group activities

The playful, sporty programs have been designed suitable for different seasons of the year, and will be tailored to suit different group sizes and conditions of fitness. We’ll move on the land and on the lake, with a boat, with a canoe, skis, kick sleds… play survival games… the program is tailored for you, always filled with fun!

We can practice how to survive in the nature, using GPS and basic tools, hammer and saw…or hiking in the darkness with a storm lantern or in the daytime, through several checkpoints with different tasks to do. And the best way to crown the day at the evening is the smoke sauna!

Premises

Haapaniemi offers a stunning place for weddings, birthdays, conference, family celebrations and other ceremonial or everyday events. You can choose a suitable menu for your event, our options are emphasized with authenticity and locality. Haapaniemi has full alcohol serving license, so we can serve full range of alcohol beverages as well. Bringing your own alcohol is not possible.

Aukusti hall

Haapaniemi mansion’s large hall guarantees a comfortable environment for various events. The outdoor terrace, the proximity of the lake and the peace of nature attracts to organize family celebrations, weddings, business meetings, annual meetings and training sessions. Haapaniemi is a high-quality choice for a celebration location.

Kelosali

Our Kelosali-building is located just by the Haapaniemi-mansion. As it can be used independently, but also it can be an additional space for your occasion – own place for kids play, dance floor, place for the band to make their appearance…or even a movie theatre!

Kelosali is equipped with a high quality audio and video system, with a huge screen. Also there is a laptop computer and wireless network.

Kelosali room can be separated in two areas with a sliding door. Also there is special “country-style” theme bar and toilets.

Haapatupa

Haapatupa is made of aspen logs, and it accommodates 2-3 persons. Beautiful view to the lake, and a nice roomy terrace facing straight to the beach, you can easily watch the sunset. Great for smaller groups’s supper, a meeting with sauna, family meeting with own privacy.

Haapatupa has also full alcohol serving rights.

Henriikka hall

Located in the Villa Haapaniemi’s ground floor, Henriikka hall is a spacious and bright room which is suitable for evening gatherings, small celebrations and meetings. Its proximity to nature and the fantastic lake views is a good source of creativity in meetings of a small group. Kitchen and barbecue allow an independent cooking. Alternatively, you can order a ready-catering, as part of the package.

Meals at the nature

Meat- and fishdishes cooked on the open fire, and the dinner surrounding the campfire is a real experience.

Different Lapp style huts, log shelter, tents and lodges will give you possibility for a peaceful dinner and strong experience.

Accommodation

Haapaniemi, country-side living close to the nature. Cozy rooms in the main mansion, classic holiday cottages and a spacious luxury villa Haapaniemi, all available summer and winter!

Holiday cottages

The cabins at Haapaniemi offer a comfortable accommodation for seven people. The cabins are fully equipped with all modern conveniences and at your disposal all year around. The cabins feature a bedroom for two, a separate sleeping alcove with bunk beds for two and bed for three up on a small gallery. The interior of the cabins includes a fireplace, a real Finnish sauna with a wood-burning stove, washing and changing rooms and a WC.

The standard features of the cabins also include a dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator and freezer, electric oven, microwave oven, TV set, radio, ironing board and iron, dinner set and water supply. Bed linen, outboard motor for the boat, canoes, bicycles, snowmobiles and other equipment are available for rent against extra charge.

Mansion’s rooms

Haapaniemi mansion is the central point of Haapaniemi area. In the upstairs is five, double-bedded rooms, which are all equipped with own toilet and shower. Guests have also a common mini-kitchen which contains a fridge. In the downstairs is a large main room, meeting room etc. and a sauna with the always-warm stove with an own washing and changing room. In the downstairs is also a toilet for the invalid persons and the main entry is equipped with wheelchair access.

In Haapaniemi mansion you can have full board, food and accommodation etc.

Villa Haapaniemi

Villa Haapaniemi is a multi-function house. Six bedrooms will accommodate up to twelve people without any need for extra beds. At the downstairs is located our spacious and bright Henriikka’s hall is works a living room as well as a place for dinners, small parties and conference room. Modern kitchen and outdoor gas grill gives possibility to cook inside or outside depeding of your choice. Large windows open beautiful view to lake Haapajärvi. House is surrounded with a large terrace. At the Villa’s yard is also located a barbecue shelter, sand beach, pier and a rowing boat.

All bedrooms at Villa Haapaniemi have own TV, some rooms have also own WC and shower. Spacious sauna and showers are located at the downstairs, wood-burning stove at our sauna warms you with soft steam and provides relaxed atmosphere.

Villa Haapaniemi is build to be used year-round. At summertime, sand beach and lake provides refreshment for the warm day, and also great possibility for fishing. You can also row the boat for short distance and visit a small island, great place for rod-fishing and has a campfire with shelter. Optionally you can rent a motor for the boat and skip the rowing.
