Our spacious smoke sauna, built from massive aspen logs, and a good beach for swimming in the clear lake waters, will be the perfect way to end your day at Haapaniemi!

Activities and unforgettable events

Playful and sporty programs, whether outdoors or indoors, along with outdoor meals at the nature and other activities, bring energy and refreshment to your meeting day, or serve as a program for company’s activity day. Even the journey to Haapaniemi can be part of the experience: you can cycle here from Iisalmi, or arrive by boat across the lake. Our all time favourite and specialty is the traditional smoke sauna, which will be the highlight of your day.

Fishing

Catching a fish takes a bit of luck, skill and patience! The fish-rich Lake Haapajärvi, Poroselkä, and other nearby lakes are excellent for lure fishing from a boat. In winter, you can try net fishing or ice fishing for perch. There’s nothing fresher than preparing a meal from the fish you’ve just caught. You can smoke the fish, fry it in a pan, cook it over open flames, or turn it into a delicious soup. You will gain hands-on experience in catching and preparing fish with our help if needed.

Smoke sauna

Our spacious smoke sauna accommodates around 15 people and offers mild and humid heat, perfect for a long and relaxing evening.

In winter, you can take a dip in the ice hole for a truly exotic and refreshing experience after the warmth of the sauna.

A hot tube next to the sauna offers even more relaxation. Cold drinks after sauna are the perfect refreshment, and our Haapatupa cottage provides a cozy setting to enjoy a meal and unwind.

Meals in nature

Meat and fish dishes cooked over an open fire – and dinner enjoyed around the campfire – offer a truly memorable experience.

Various Lapp-style huts, log shelter, tents, and lodges provide a peaceful setting and a strong connection to nature while you dine.

Hot tub

Sauna parties, stag nights, birthdays, family gatherings… anything! Hot tub is always a great addition to any event. This “mobile” hot tub can be towed by a car – to your home, cottage, wherever you need it. You can also book the hot tub as part of your event in Haapaniemi, warm and ready when you are.

Group activities

Our playful and sporty programs are designed for all seasons of the year and can be tailored to fit different group sizes and fitness levels. We’ll move on land and water – by boat, canoe, skis, or kick sled… even play survival games! Each activity package is customized for you, always full of fun and adventure!

We can practice wilderness survival using GPS and basic tools – like hammer and saw – or go hiking in the dark with a storm lantern, or during the day, navigating through several checkpoints with different tasks to do. And the best way to end the day is with a relaxing visit to the smoke sauna!

Haapaniemi offers a stunning venue for weddings, birthdays, conferences, family celebrations and other ceremonial or everyday events. You can choose a menu that suits your occasion, our selections emphasize authenticity and locally sourced ingredients. Haapaniemi has a full alcohol license, allowing us to serve a full range of alcoholic beverages. Please note that bringing your own alcohol is not permitted.

Aukusti hall – 85 (150) person

The spacious hall of Haapaniemi mansion provides a comfortable and elegant environment for various events. The outdoor terrace, the nearby lake, and the surrounding tranquility of nature make it an ideal venue to organize family celebrations, weddings, business meetings, annual gatherings and training sessions. Haapaniemi is a high-quality and memorable choice for any special occasion.

Kelosali – 60 person

Our Kelosali-building is located right next to the Haapaniemi mansion. It can be used as an independent venue or as additional space for your occasion – a dedicated play area for children, a dance floor, a stage for a band… or even a movie theatre!

Kelosali is equipped with a high-quality audio and video system, including a large screen. A laptop and wireless internet connection are also available.

Kelosali can be divided into two separate areas with a sliding door. There’s also a charming “country-style” theme bar and restroom facilities.

Haapatupa – 15 person

Haapatupa is built from solid aspen logs and accommodates 2-3 people. It offers beautiful view of the lake and a spacious terrace facing the beach – perfect for enjoying the sunset. It is ideal for a small group dinner, a meeting with sauna access, or a private family gathering.

Haapatupa also has a full alcohol license.

Henriikka hall – 12 person

Located on the ground floor of Villa Haapaniemi, Henriikka hall is a spacious and bright room which is ideal for evening gatherings, small celebrations, and meetings. Its closeness to nature and stunning lake views provide a good source of creativity in meetings of a small group. A kitchen and barbecue area are available for self-catering. Alternatively, you can order a ready-made catering as part of your package.

Exceptional facilities for all kinds of events

At Haapaniemi, you can host both elegant celebrations and more relaxed gatherings in a stunning setting.

Our private restaurant serves delicious, homemade food prepared with locally sourced ingredients. We make extensive use of regional game, fish caught from Lake Haapajärvi, as well as wild mushrooms and berries from nearby forests.

Haapaniemi is fully licensed to serve alcoholic beverages (A-license), so we can take care of all your needs on that part. Please note that bringing your own alcohol is not permitted.

Year-round accommodation!

Haapaniemi, countryside living close to nature. Cozy rooms in the main mansion, classic holiday cottages and the spacious luxury Villa Haapaniemi, are all available during summer and winter!

Holiday cottages

The cabins at Haapaniemi offer comfortable accommodation for up to seven people. The cabins are fully equipped with all modern conveniences and available for use year-round. Each cabin features a bedroom for two, a separate sleeping alcove with bunk beds for two, and a bed for three up on a small loft. The interior includes a fireplace, a traditional Finnish sauna with a wood-burning stove, washing and changing rooms, and a toilet.

The standard features of the cabins also include a dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator and freezer, electric oven, microwave oven, TV, radio, ironing board and iron, dinnerware and running water. Bed linen, and outboard motor for the boat, canoes, bicycles, snowmobiles and other equipment are available for rent against extra charge.

Rooms in the Mansion

Haapaniemi mansion is the central point of the Haapaniemi area. Upstairs, there are five double rooms, each equipped with a private toilet and shower. Guests also have access to a shared kitchenette with a refrigerator. Downstairs, the mansion features a spacious main hall, a meeting room, and a sauna with an always-warm stove, along with its own washing and changing facilities. There is also a wheelchair-accessible toilet on the ground floor, and the main entrance is equipped with wheelchair access.

At Haapaniemi mansion, you can enjoy full board, including accommodation and all meals etc.

Villa Haapaniemi

Villa Haapaniemi is a versatile house, perfect for various occasions. It has six bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate up to twelve people without the need for extra beds. Downstairs, the spacious and bright Henriikka hall serves as a living room, dining area, venue for small parties, or a conference room. A modern kitchen and an outdoor gas grill provide the option to cook indoors or outside, depending on your preference. Large windows offer a beautiful view of Lake Haapajärvi, and the house is surrounded by a large terrace. In the Villa’s yard, you’ll also find a barbecue shelter, a sandy beach, a pier and a rowing boat.

All bedrooms at Villa Haapaniemi have their own TV. Some rooms also have a private WC and shower. A spacious sauna and showers are located downstairs. The wood-burning stove in the sauna provides soft steam and creates a relaxing atmosphere.

Villa Haapaniemi is built for year-round use. In the summertime, the sandy beach and lake offer refreshment on warm days, as well as excellent opportunities for fishing. You can also row a short distance to a nearby island – a great spot for rod fishing with a campfire site and shelter. Alternatively, you can rent a motor for the boat and skip the rowing.
